Historic site by excellence of mining heritage and touristic place of first importance in Abitibi-Témiscamingue, La Cité de l’Or offers a unique guided animation concept that allows you to visit the only gold mine of Quebec that is accesible to visitors down to 300 feets (91 meters) underground.

Besides the visit underground and the visit of Lamaque’s mine main buildings, La Cité de l’Or also offers you a guided tour of Bourlamaque’s mining village. This interpretation tour, which introduce you to the developed heritage of this village still occupied today and unique gold rush survivor of Abitibi, includes a stop to the historic house to view a video film about the village history and the access to the temporary photo exhibition of the film Je me souviens.
