Welcome in the Great Bear Rainforest, the largest intact temperate rainforest in the world. This is the natural habitat of the Spirit Bear and of the world’s only Kitasoo Spirit Bear Conservancy. This is also the ancestral lands and traditional territory of the Kitasoo/Xai’xais First Nation. In a land sculpted by the last ice age, where deep coastal fjords cut into the snow capped mountains and temperate rainforests lead to remote beaches, Spirit Bear Lodge takes visitors on an authentic cultural journey. The ancestral lands of the Kitasoo/Xai’xais are also home to ancient village sites and architecture.
